Spring can't be too far away. I looked out my kitchen window this morning to see Mama & Papa Bluebird setting close together on a tree limb.
"So, in which of these birdhouses should we build our nest?" Said Papa Bluebird.
"Oh, I don't know, which one do you think?" Replied Mama Bluebird.

"Oh, I don't know, which one do you think?" Replied Mama Bluebird.
"Well, you know, when the storms come in the spring and summer the wind blows out of the southwest. So, I suggest we build in that one on the fence post on the northeast side."
"Oh, no, Papa, you know that awful cat sits in the bay window on the north so she would have a good view of our home if we choose that one," said Mama Bluebird.
"Well, then, let's have a look at the nice one hanging on the side of the tree down by the creek. It's close enough to the ground that if one of our little ones fell out, they wouldn't have far to fall. Plus, there are likely to be juicy worms in the soil by that creek and it would be handy when we need a drink", said Papa Bluebird, thoughtfully.
When a couple is ready to purchase a home, they are much like Mama and Papa Bluebird. They want a place that is safe from storms and certainly away from predators. They want a place that is safe for their children. And, being close to a grocery store would be an asset.
How much thought goes into our preparation for our Heavenly Home?
Do we even think about it very often? Unlike Mama and Papa Bluebird's home or the couple buying their first home, our Heavenly Home is eternal. It won't be cast about by the winds of storm nor will we have to concern ourselves about it's safety.
Are you preparing for your Heavenly Home?
“Let not your heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in me. There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly." John 14:1-3 Living Bible
