Where Is Your Power Source?

When you wake up about daylight, these aren't the words you want to hear, "Electricity is off. Guess I better get my flashlight and see if I can figure out what's wrong."

Sure enough, as I open my eyes and peer at the beam of light coming through the glass in the door of our bedroom, I glance at the clock and it's off. I pull myself out of bed, grab my bathrobe and thank the Lord that there is no blizzard outside with below freezing temperature. I hadn't heard any thunder or hard rain through the night so I just prayed it was a Carroll Electric problem and not something wrong at our house.

An all electric home is great except in situations like we encountered yesterday morning. But, when you have no running water, no heat, no way to brew coffee, it can get a bit annoying. So, we were very thankful when three hours later, there was a flicker of a light bulb and the hum of the refrigerator.

We have been blessed all the years we have lived here not to have lost power for more than a few hours. When people around us were without power for a week or more during a blizzard a few years ago, our lights didn't even flicker. So, we feel we are plugged into a very good power source with Carroll Electric.

What kind of power source are you plugged into spiritually? Do you depend on God to be your strength? Do you depend on the Lord to get you through the dark times in your life when your own power fails?

"Each time he said, “No. But I am with you; that is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people.” Now I am glad to boast about how weak I am; I am glad to be a living demonstration of Christ’s power, instead of showing off my own power and abilities." 2 Corinthians 12:9 (TLB)
