Scaredy Cat

As a child, I was a scaredy cat. I feared storms, the dark and barking dogs. One evening about dark, my friend, Nan, and I were setting on the steps of my screened porch telling ghost stories. I glanced up and saw a man staggering around the corner of my home toward us wearing a long , black coat and a dark hat. Quick as a flash, I jumped up without saying a word, ran inside and locked the scr...een door leaving poor Nan to face the man. When she saw him, she screamed and ran to the door but I was afraid to unlatch the door. As it turns out, it was my daddy so my fear was unnecessary.

Isn't it amazing how we fear the unknown when our Heavenly Father cares so much for us? Fear doesn't come from God but from the Evil One.

2 Timothy 1:7 says: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." KJV And in 1 Peter 5:7 "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." NIV Are there things you fear unnecessarily?

Release those fears to God and let Him take care of them.
