Getting to Know Him

We are excited about the great-grandbaby that is expected this summer. And, like all parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, when we see this beautiful little one, we will start to pick out features we see of our own off spring.

"Look, he has his mother's little nose" or "Oh, I wish he would open his little eyes. I bet they are brown just like his mother and daddy's eyes". " Oh, and just look at those curls. I knew he would have curls because his mother and daddy both have curly hair."

Have you ever heard people say the longer two people live together, the more they begin to look alike? I don't know about that but I remember when John and I were dating, a businessman in town thought we were brother and sister.

People should be able to look at our daily walk in life and see who we resemble. Do we resemble our Lord in our daily activity? Would our Heavenly Father be able to look down at us from Heaven and say, "That is my son or daughter in whom I am well pleased"?

"Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now." 1 Corinthians 13:12 (NLT)

The more we get to know Him, the more others see us through His reflection.
